Fit For Life Gym’s 500 Rep 5k Challenge is a unique approach to doing a 5k.

At your average 5k you will run or walk to the halfway point, turn around and you are done. Fit For Life Gym is not your average gym. Our 5k is not done like the average 5k. We involve exercise. At our event you will see families, teams from gyms, fast runners, walkers and most important, large hearts. No matter what happens in our course, you can always bank on the fact that we ask for a donation that will benefit children in need right here in Bakersfield. So, spread the word. The more donations, the better.

The run is at Yokuts Park. You can register on the morning of the run from 7:30 am - 8:50. Bring a new back pack as your entry fee. You will get a shirt and snacks after the run. 

Our signature course looks like this.

Warm up @9am all together


Start @9:10 Run or walk to your first station, see the sign describing the exercise, watch and listen to the trainer cue form. Do 25 reps.


Go to the next station labeled station #2, you will see a trainer, do the next move, 25 reps


You will follow the course and move through a total of 10 stations and loop back to repeat each station.


Arrive at the finish line! You will have completed a 5k while performing a total of 500 reps! Have a snack. Take some pics. Feel good about what you just did and we will see you next year!
